and Ambition:
MINDED is dedicated to delivering a battery-electric IVECO eDaily minibus that offers a 20% improved range at 0°C. This enhancement is achieved through the implementation of advanced heating systems, optimized thermal and energy management strategies, and state-of-the-art air conditioning technologies. Our focus is on integrating these elements to create a high-performance, zero-emission vehicle that meets the demands of modern transportation.
Innovation – Comfort – Sustainability
The strategic vision of MINDED includes:
- 1DELIVERING AN ENERGY-EFFICIENT, AFFORDABLE, ZERO EMISSION MINIBUS
- 2PROVIDING INNOVATIVE MOBILITY SOLUTIONS
- 3TRANSFORM ROAD TRANSPORT TO ZERO EMISSION
Heating and Cooling System
Development and implementation of infrared heating
panels, thermal cabin insulation, a thermal mannequin
for comfort evaluation, an optimized HVAC
system with an oil-free e-compressor, necessary
ECUs, and user-centric HMIs
Digital Twin and Control Strategy
Creation of a digital twin model of the vehicle, AI-based algorithms for predicting driving behavior, overall thermal and energy management strategies, and comfort control strategies.
Demonstration and Performance Evaluation
Integration and testing of the developed technologies on the IVECO eDaily minibus on a dynamometer and the HVAC system on a Thermo-Lab testbed.

SUSTAINABILITY
Our strategic vision aligns with global efforts to reduce CO2 emissions and supports the European Green Deal’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. By transforming Europe’s mobility, energy, and production systems, we aim to make significant strides in achieving these ambitious targets. The MINDED project aligns perfectly with the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda of the 2ZERO Partnership, which includes key consortium partners such as AIT, IVECO, IDIADA, and TUDA.
